Expanish believes that regular Spanish speaking practice and cultural immersion outside of the classroom is the key to acquiring a sophisticated understanding of the language. Our cultural activities for our study abroad Spanish language students in Argentina are designed to encourage students to take their Spanish language studies outside of the classroom, learn about the local cultural, and immerse themselves in the language and daily life of Buenos Aires.

Study Abroad Student Workshops in Buenos Aires
Our Spanish School in Buenos Aires has partnered with selected venues in Buenos Aires to offer special student skill workshops, providing them with additional activities where they will be able to practice their Spanish plus learn a skill at the same time. Sharpen your Spanish language skills while fortifying your cultural literacy by participating in our w orkshops outside of the classroom

Tango (Dancing)
Learning tango in Buenos Aires is great way to discover another facet of the Argentine culture, practice your Spanish, and learn about local tradition. Our tango classes are available to every dancer, from beginner to advanced levels. Classes are taught by an experienced tango professor who takes students through both formal instruction and dance floor practice, combining some of the most traditional tango steps to the latest improvisational techniques.

Fileteado painting
Fileteado painting is an art form that originated in Buenos Aires. It is a popular form of art in the city, stylized by intense colors, three dimensional and shadowed forms, and characters such as dragons, birds, ribbons, flowers, symbols, phrases, and expressions. Fileteado painting is often used in the décor of homes, local restaurants, boutiques and shops, and hotels.

Polo
Study abroad Spanish language students will take their language skills to the field while learning polo in Argentina. The polo workshop includes spending a day at a local estancia (Argentine ranch), learning polo in both the morning and afternoon hours, enjoying a traditional asado (Argentine barbeque) at midday, and either horseback riding or watching a polo game later on in the day. Students may choose to stay overnight at the estancia.
