August 26 - November 7, 2010

10 Weeks

Immerse Yourself in a New Culture, Language, and Experience: Study Abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In Fall 2010, San Diego City College, in collaboration with Expanish, will be offering a 10 week study abroad program in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Students will have the opportunity to take courses for academic credit while exploring this dynamic South American city. In the process, they will discover a complex culture, learn Spanish as spoken in Rio de la Plata, and experience the energy that flows through Buenos Aires, a city that never sleeps.

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, combines sophistication with flair, Latin traditions with European culture, and cosmopolitan excitement with a welcoming atmosphere. This "Paris of South America" is an irrepressible mix of immigrant traditions in culture and gastronomy, a modern and avant garde artistic and intellectual spirit, and a restless political engagement that daily sweeps through the streets. It is a city of contrasts, where 19th century French and Germanic architecture shoulders high tech skyscrapers, and colonial cobblestone roads feed on to broad avenues studded with modern, boutique stores. Buenos Aires is a city filled with historical statues, large green parks, and an endless river of bus lines and taxi cabs that fill its jacaranda shaded streets. It is also a place of extraordinary fusion with its corner cafes and ethnic restaurants, street-side Tango dancers, Latin American art galleries and museums, soccer stadiums and catholic churches, Spanish plazas and riverside boulevards, and kiosks and shopping centers.

Expanish

Expanish was founded in 2006 by two Argentine education professionals who were inspired by their extensive travels throughout the world and the increasing interest among students wanting to study in a "foreign" environment, language, and culture. Expanish is an educational organization where a passion for education and travel merges, resulting in the belief that living and learning in a foreign culture is the gateway to true learning and knowledge.

The Expanish Campus
