For those study abroad students who do not take out a policy through Expanish, we advise parents in assisting your student with checking their regular health and travel insurance and whether the student will be covered for the entire duration of time spent abroad. Be sure of the insurance provider's claims process and whether there is coverage under a family members' plan for a student studying abroad in another country.
As a parent, it is best to make photocopies or note down all information about the health and travel insurance provider of your student (contact information, claims procedure, student insurance I.D, etc.) in the case that you may need to assist your student with any information.
