Expanish stresses the comfort and safety of our study abroad students and we endeavor to ensure that all the needs of each university student are addressed. From airport pickup on the very first day through your move out day, Expanish students can count on our assistance no matter what the circumstance. Here are some of the student support services we offer to Expanish study abroad students:

 

Student Services Help Desk
For all questions on the student end, we have established a Student Services Help Desk. Our bilingual office, university, and Spanish school staff in Buenos Aires is available each business day to address any concerns that may arise and students additionally have a 24-hour local emergency contact number. From helping students select courses to choosing the best gym, the staff of Expanish is here to help.
 

Transcript & Academic Credit Transfer
All Expanish students receive an official transcript emitted directly from their accredited university of study in Argentina, and Expanish staff work closely with students and advisors before and after the student’s program to ensure the transfer of credits back to home universities. While the process varies significantly between home institutions, Expanish does its best to ensure students do not have any surprises before or after their program.  

 

Health and Traveler's Insurance
Expanish requires that all students on university study abroad programs have comprehensive international health and travel insurance abroad for the full duration of their program. For those who wish to purchase insurance, Expanish has teamed up with CareMed International to offer students two comprehensive travel and medical insurance packages at affordable monthly rates to ensure international coverage for our students. Plans for insurance abroad include medical, legal and technical services, 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and are valid for study in any Expanish destination, along with travel around South America.


Health and Safety Information

Expanish assures all students that we take health and safety as well as safe travel practices very seriously on each of our programs abroad. International concerns and all emergency information available in Argentina are taken into heavy consideration when developing our programs and are at the forefront of our minds throughout the length of each student’s program. Please visit our

Student Visas
Depending on student nationality, some students may be required to apply for a student visa if studying Spanish in Buenos Aires on a program over 90 days in duration. Students will receive the assistance of Expanish staff with the visa application process and more information upon program registration. Please visit our
Student Visa page for specific requirements about your home country.
 

Student Identity Card
Each Expanish student will receive an ISIC studen identity card, offering discounts around the world.
 

Airport Pick-Up
Students will be picked up at the airport upon arrival in Buenos Aires as part of their university program.

Pre–Arrival Info
Students receive a detailed information pre-arrival pack upon program approval to help prepair for their trip, as soon as they turn all their additional documents and are officially approved for the program.

Orientation & City Tour
Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, students receive further welcome mateials at their program orientation to help acqcuaint them with the city, as well as a city tour. The city tours lasts several  hours , provides a cultural  and historial view  of some of Argentina's most famous landmarks, and teaches students how to use public transportation in Buenos Aires. The welcome packet contains a calling card, subway passes, transportation guide, maps, and a variety of information including tourist infor, health & safety advice, excursion and class info, and activity info to be used during their stay in Argentina. Students have a comprehensive on site program orientation upon arrival in South America; information about everything from daily life and culture, to program excursions, will be covered in the orientation.
 

Cell Phone
For a deposit of US$50, all Expanish university students are given a private cell phone for the duration of their program in order to maintain contact with local friends and faraway family members. The deposit is refunded in full at the end of the program, provided the cell phone is not damaged, lost, or stolen.

Conversation Partner (Intercambio)
Students wishing to practice their Spanish with a native Spanish speaker who is learning their native language can be introduced to an intercambio language exchange partner. Students can practice both languages while meeting at their leisure throughout the duration of their stay.
